Espacio Fenómena Guidelines

Below, you’ll find a series of guidelines that will help all of us make the most of our time in Lanzarote and in your new home for these days.

Firstly, please be aware that there are two entrances to the house: one that you have a key for🔑, which is the area of the bedrooms, and another that is always open when someone in charge of the house is present, which is the common area side.

The common areas can be accessed through the back patio, and these doors are closed but never locked.

Lanzarote is special in many aspects, and one of them is its safety, but Espacio Fenómena cannot be held responsible for the loss of valuables.

Please lock your room 🔐 when you leave the house, especially if you have valuables.

Espacio Fenómena is an eco-conscious house, which means:

  • 💦 Hot water is heated by solar panels. If you shower early and many guests used hot water the night before, it may take a little time for it to heat again.
    If it stays cold and the day is cloudy, please let us know so we can switch to the grid.
  • 💧 Water is scarce in Lanzarote. A 4-minute shower uses over 80 liters of water. Try setting a timer ⏱️ to stay within that.
  • ♻️ We reuse water from showers, sinks, and washing areas to irrigate the garden 🌺🌱.

🚫 Please do not flush anything non-organic down the toilet, including paper. Each bathroom has a bin for paper, wipes, and sanitary items.

🪣 Try to shake off as much sand as possible before showering. There’s a hose outside that you can use.

The kitchen is the heart of the house, perfect for preparing meals, sharing breakfast, or meeting fellow travelers.
Remember: Sharing is caring & communication is key.

The table in the kitchen is a beautiful slice of tamarind wood 🌳. Please use coasters and placemats to protect it.

When cooking:

  • 🚫 Don’t pour oils down the drain. Use an empty jar and dispose of it in the bin.
  • 🍽️ You can use the dishwasher for glasses, plates, and cutlery. Pans, pots, and wooden utensils should be washed by hand so others can use them.
  • 🗑️ If the trash is full, please take it out. Containers are right outside the house on the left.
  • 🧃 Help us recycle properly by separating waste.
  • On check-out day, feel free to leave any leftover food on the table so it doesn’t go to waste. If there’s something left in the fridge, just move it to the “For everyone” shelf – thank you!

Your room is your retreat. Please respect quiet hours (23:00–7:30).
Avoid bringing food into the rooms to keep them clean and free from insects.
If you fancy tea, there are trays and coasters in the kitchen.

Stained sheets or towels have an extra cleaning cost of €10 per item.

Towels, Sheets & Cleaning:

  • For stays over 7 days, a mid-stay towel and sheet change is included.
  • For shorter stays, a towel change costs €10; a full room cleaning with sheets €20.
  • Extra room cleaning during your stay: €20.

You can park on the street or in the front yard (the neighbor appreciates it).

🕚 Check-out: 11:00 a.m.
Please note that late check-outs are charged as an extra night.
Please return your key and settle any pending balances.

If your check-out is early (before 8:00 a.m.), leave your key hanging on the door, no need to lock the main entrance. Please send a short WhatsApp to let us know you’ve left.
Lost keys: €20 charge.

Please use an ashtray.

🔥 No candles, incense, or open flames inside, please.

Espacio Fenómena doesn’t offer laundry service, but here’s a list of express laundries nearby.

If you’re looking for a nice spot to enjoy live music, drinks, or meet locals, here are a few favorites:

  • Friday: Jam Sessions at Boca Chancla, Teguise
  • Sunday: Lagomar in Nazaret & Palacio del Marqués, Teguise
  • Wed–Sun: La Mar Café, Famara: great vibes, pool table, and surfers.
  • La Bodeguita de Güime: Open 17:00–23:30, closed Mondays.
  • Islote de Fermina, Arrecife: Thu–Sat
  • El Almacén, Arrecife: 10:00–21:00 (Sat until 14:00, closed Sun)
