This past May, I had the pleasure of hosting something truly special at Espacio Fenomena in collab with @thesuncollective and @spectrumwip: a three-day creative retreat led by illustrator and muralist Amaia Arrazola, her very first time guiding a retreat, and a milestone I’m proud to have supported from the beginning.

It’s always a joy to curate experiences like this, and for this one, Amaia was invited to lead a group of open-hearted creatives through a playful, expressive exploration of art and landscape.

Over the course of three vibrant days, we followed lava paths, sketched among volcanos, and explored the textures and tones of Lanzarote’s wild beauty. From watercolor to colored pencils and mixed media, the retreat focused on freeing up creativity and finding joy in the process; no pressure, no perfection, just expression.

To enrich the weekend further, Txemy, an internationally acclaimed artist from Tenerife was also invited, and shared powerful insights through short creative talks, touching on materials, technique, and the overlooked poetry of paper.

All of it took place in the cozy setting of Espacio Fenomena, with a private chef and slow, nourishing meals that brought everyone together.

For Amaia, this retreat was a first and she absolutely shined.
For me, it was a reminder of why I do this: to hold space for creative people to feel free, connected, and inspired.
